My second kit! What better way to continue my gunpla obsession by basking in the glory of the real grade experience! Anyways, being an Exia fan boy, there is no way that my first Exia is going to be a high grade.
Up close and personal.
I love the details and color separation in Real Grade kits. The numerous small parts, while a headache to put together, creates a beautiful piece of art if assembled properly.
Being new to the hobby, I tried to put effort in polishing the parts. As such, these legs literally took me 4 hours to do.
The chest gave me a bit of frustration to put together. For some reason, it felt like some pegs didn't fit with each other. After a few fits of autism, I finally got all together.
The arms were a headache too. I believe the peg connecting the left arm to the chest was too thick and as such it wouldn't go in properly. I had to sand it down.
And finally the head! I hated putting head together. Too much small parts. Those holographic clear plastics...makes me want to jump off a cliff. It doesn't help finding out that the cheek armor wasn't symmetrical with the face armor so I had too go through the same nightmare twice.
GN Sword, GN Blades, and GN Shield. As such Exia becomes Seven Sword Exia.
I applied 30% of the decals. Didn't care about the rest as they are too small.
Back of the kit. Note that the GN Drive is removable.
All the accessories it comes with.
Comparison with HG Qan[T].
Overall, this kit is awesome! If you can get over the fact that you will go through many fits of autism and 'nam flashbacks when building this, then you will be rewarded with a really great 1/144 scale of our lord and savior, Exia. If you're an Exia fan boy like me, then this is a must.
